Learning area leader science Closes 23 February 2024

We are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable, and motivated learning area leader of science who can teach to Level 3 and scholarship. Our ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of effective pedagogies to bring the science curriculum alive, and have experience in leading change. With NCEA changes in effect from 2024, our new LAL will need to implement these changes while providing positive and relational teaching approaches that will create a stimulating, collaborative and supportive student focused learning environment.

You will develop strong relationships with students from diverse backgrounds and recognise and value the importance of embedding Mātauranga Māori within the curriculum. Collaboration with colleagues from other learning areas will contribute to the development of an outstanding and innovative science learning area.
