Positive Behaviour for Learning

Fostering a Culture of Positive Behaviour

Empowering Student Choices for Success

Empowering Students Through Positive Choices

We actively promote positive behaviours that create a conducive learning atmosphere, empowering students to make informed choices that genuinely reflect our school’s core values. By fostering an environment of respect and support, we enable students to develop essential skills for self-regulation and social interaction, encouraging them to take responsibility for their actions.

This approach not only enhances individual growth but also strengthens our overall school community, creating a culture where everyone thrives academically and personally.

Fostering a Culture of Positivity

At John Paul II High School, we emphasise recognising and celebrating the positive actions of our students rather than solely addressing negative behaviours. Our values-based approach, combined with the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) framework, fosters stronger connections between students and teachers, leading to improved learning outcomes.
Rewarding Positive Actions

Encouraging Positive Engagement

We utilise various systems to acknowledge and reward students’ contributions to our school community, including Gold Awards and PB4L Awards. One key component is the Weekly Notes, which provide timely feedback on students’ attitudes and progress. These notes facilitate parent engagement, encourage personal goal setting, and enable teachers to track student performance proactively. Through this approach, we aim to foster a positive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Celebrating Positive Contributions

At John Paul II High School, our PB4L systems encourage positive student engagement. The Weekly Notes system provides essential feedback on behaviour, fostering accountability and personal growth. By highlighting positive actions, we cultivate a supportive learning atmosphere for all students.
