Monday July 20, 2020 from 11.00am to 6.00pm
The first day of Term 3 is a wonderful opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers to discuss everything and anything to do with academia. Of course, if you wish to talk about other things too, then that’s no problem, but the focus on this set of parent teacher conferences is academic progress entering the second half of the year.
When you think about it, it’s already July. Senior exams, even though they have been put back an extra week this year, due to COVID-19, are only a hop, skip and jump distance away. Before we know it, exams will be upon us and seniors will be stressing that it’s all too late!
But never fear, in most cases, it is never too late to fill in gaps of knowledge and ensure students give themselves the best possible chance to achieve well. For juniors, the exam stress may not be the same, but for the self-motivated ones out there, this is their chance to test themselves. We are not a school which streams classes, but that is not to say students don’t know where they sit in regards to rankings etc. It is and should be important to all students to do well in class.
However, for a student to be successful, they cannot do this alone. They need their teachers and support staff, but they also need their parents to be onboard. This is the reason why events like our Parent Teacher Conferences are vital. A child needs a village to grow up, together we can push, pull, guide or cajole them to be the better version of themselves.
Please make the time for this, it is important.
Please follow the instructions attached to book a time with each teacher. All the meetings will happen in the school hall which is heated. Please ensure that your son/daughter joins you at the conference as it is important they receive the message directly as well as it being a chance for them to explain things for themselves.
If you have any trouble making a booking, then please call the office who will be able to help you.
