PROCEDURES FOR HANDLING LATE WORK

These procedures will apply when assignments for NCEA are to be presented to a teacher by a specific date (deadline).

Extension to deadlines for compassionate reasons may be granted at the teacher's discretion (teachers are requested to keep records of such extension dates) for any of the following reasons:

N.B. No extension will be granted for wilful absences and other non-school approved activities.

In the cases of 5 and 6 above, where extensions are granted, assignments must be handed in to the school office immediately upon returning to school. The office will date-stamp it when submitted.

Appeals relating to the application of this policy may be lodged with the following people in the order listed:

(i) subject teacher

(ii) Assessment & Reporting Committee member nominated by student

(iii) Principal (or in the event of a conflict of interest - the Deputy Principal )

In the event that the nominated A & R member cannot resolve the situation, then he/she will convene a meeting of the full committee at which the Principal may choose to attend as an observer.
